The Expectant Mum Event - Sunday 25th October
The Birth Balance Expectant Mum Event is back!
Following our first sold-out event, we're returning to The Millhouse for another relaxed morning designed to help you feel informed, supported and a little more prepared for the months ahead.
This event will also give you an exclusive taster of Birth Balance's brand-new Navigating Maternity Care & Induction of Labour Workshop.
Around 1 in 3 live singleton births in Scotland now follow induction of labour. That doesn't mean induction will be part of your pregnancy or birth, but knowing a little about your options before you're ever asked to make decisions can make the whole maternity system feel far less daunting.
During the morning we'll:
Have a taster session on navigating maternity care and induction of labour, looking briefly at some of the topics covered in the new full workshop
Hold a relaxed midwife Q&A, giving you the opportunity to ask those pregnancy, birth and postnatal questions you've been Googling at 2am!
-Hear from Louise from The Ayrshire Maws, who'll introduce some of the free events, meet-ups and support available for new mums across Ayrshire
We’ll also have a guest speaker — all will be revealed soon!
-Enjoy a hot drink and roll or cake from The Millhouse
-Everyone will leave with a Birth Balance goody bag
There'll also be plenty of opportunity to chat, meet other local expectant mums and ask questions throughout.
As always, there are no awkward ice breakers, no judgement and no expectation to have a particular type of birth. Just friendly, evidence-based information from a practising midwife in a relaxed environment.
